In their description for the doodle, Google asks homepage visitors to follow Magpie bird into the stadium to catch all action. The animal dominates the creative with a snake slithering, a canine friend leaping up in the air and a penguin showing off her excitement towards the games. Members of the animal kingdom have not only turned up as athletes but also as thrilled audiences – see the cutie pie polar bear holding the flag to cheer up the participants.

Through this happy doodle, Google is spreading the real joy about to unfold over the next two weeks! PyeongChang 2018 sees a participation of 2,952 athletes from 92 countries. There are 107 events in seven sports and 15 disciplines including the addition of big air snowboarding, mass start speed skating, mixed doubles curling, and mixed team alpine skiing to the Winter Olympic programme. South Korea is overtly excited about hosting the Winter Olympics for the first time and second big multievent tournament after being the host country for 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. President Moon Jae-in will open the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang Olympic Stadium on February 9, Friday.
