New Delhi, March 25: Amid ongoing efforts to end the Iran war, US President Donald Trump on Tuesday claimed that Tehran has made a major concession, saying it has agreed to never build nuclear weapons. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said, “I don’t want to say in advance, but they’ve agreed they will never have a nuclear weapon.”

Striking an optimistic tone, Trump also revealed that Iran had delivered what he described as a “very significant present” to the United States, hinting it could be linked to oil and gas. “They gave us a present and the present arrived today, and it was a very big present, worth a tremendous amount of money,” he said, adding, “It wasn’t nuclear, it was oil-and gas-related, and it was a very nice thing they did.” Donald Trump Signals Pause in Iran Strikes, Global Markets Rally; Brent Crude Drops Below USD 100 per Barrel.

The remarks come as tensions around the Strait of Hormuz continue to raise global concerns. The key oil transit route has seen instability amid ongoing US-Israel-Iran tensions, triggering fears of energy disruptions and market volatility. Donald Trump Threatens Attacks on Iranian Power Plants if Tehran Fails To Open Strait of Hormuz.

Trump reiterated his stance that the US has already won the conflict with Iran, now in its fourth week. He claimed American strikes had dismantled Iran’s military capabilities, saying the country has no navy, leaders, or radar left, and called the operation a “tremendous success.”

He also suggested internal differences within his administration, stating, “Pete didn’t want it to be settled,” referring to Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and earlier remarks about military action.

Despite the lack of clarity around the so-called “present,” Trump indicated that diplomatic outreach is ongoing. “We’re talking to the right people and they want to make a deal so badly,” he said, even as Iran has denied engaging in talks with the US or Israel.

Trump added that Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner are involved in leading the negotiations.
