The dramatic video shows the man falling headfirst onto the pavement before crashing into the back of a parked vehicle. He is then seen lying motionless with his head wedged between the curb and the car's rear wheel while his wife rushes to help him. Attorney William Berman alleged that the city created a dangerous hazard by removing the parking meter but leaving behind its raised metal base and protruding bolts embedded in the sidewalk. The injured man reportedly sustained a broken neck and back in the fall. Although he has since been discharged from the hospital, his attorney said he now requires 24-hour medical care at home.
