The central government has amended Aadhaar regulations. The government has said that the supporting documents need to be updated at least once in 10 years, reported PTI. As per the gazette notification issued by Ministry of Electronics and IT, the update would ensure continued accuracy of Aadhaar-related information in the Central Identities Data Repository (CIDR). Recently, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) (agency that issues Aadhaar numbers) had urged people to update their documents, if they were issued the Aadhaar more than 10 years back but had not updated their details since then. As reported by PTI, till now 134 crore Aadhaar numbers have been issued.
