More than 50 children have died in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh over the past three weeks from encephalitis that has been linked to toxins in lychees. Most of the victims belong to the economically backward sections. Though there aren’t any confirmations on the cause of the spread of the deadly disease, warning are issued across the disease stricken areas.
