Assam Assembly Decides To Discontinue British-Era Rule of Giving 2-Hour Long Break to Muslim MLAs for Friday Namaz

Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary on Friday, August 30, decided to end a British-era rule of giving a break on Fridays so that Muslim MLAs can offering Namaz. Since the British time in India, there used to be a break of two hours between 12 PM and 2 PM on every Friday in the state assembly.
