Budget 2020-21: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2020-21 on Saturday, February 1. Sitharaman allocated Rs 22,000 crore for the power and renewable sector. Sitharaman urged state governments to implement smart meters in three years. Smart meters would give consumers the right to choose suppliers and the rate.
