Cyclone Nisarga: Watch Dramatic Visuals As The Cyclonic Storm Made Landfall In Alibaug, Maharashtra

Severe cyclonic storm Nisarga made landfall in Alibaug in the coastal region of Maharashtra on the afternoon of June 3. Cyclone Nisarga caused heavy rains in Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Raigad and Ratnagiri districts. Strong winds lashed the coastal region. Cyclone Nisarga gradually lost its strength as it moved further inland. Around 10 pm on June 3, it weakened to become cyclonic storm (from severe cyclonic storm). Besides Maharashtra, Gujarat, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli were put on high alert. When the landfall happened, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) chief SN Pradhan tweeted some dramatic clips that show trees swaying, electricity poles toppling amid strong winds and heavy rain. People shared visuals from different places in Maharashtra as cyclone Nisarga made landfall. Forty-three teams of National Disaster Response Force or NDRF were deployed in areas expected to be affected along Maharashtra & Gujarat coasts. The landfall caused minimal damage in the financial capital of the country, Mumbai.
