After they were dismissed by Dushmantha Chameera (1/46) and Vipraj Nigam, Andre Russell (17) looked to give the Kolkata Knight Riders a strong finish. Following a chaotic last over from Mitchell Starc, which saw three wickets fall, Kolkata Knight Riders got to 204/9. In response, Delhi Capitals lost Abishek Porel early to Anukul Roy (1/27). KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane was injured and left the field and Sunil Narine stepped in as the stand-in skipper. He brought on Varun Chakaravarthy (2/39), who dismissed Ashutosh Sharma and Mitchell Starc. Although Vipraj Nigam (38) tried his best, Andre Russell (1/22) cleaned him up to secure a victory for the Kolkata Knight Riders. This is the fourth victory for Kolkata Knight Riders and fourth loss for Delhi Capitals.
