Dearness Allowance (DA) For Government Employees Hiked By 5%, Modi Govt Calls It ‘Diwali Gift’

Modi government on October 9 hiked dearness allowance (DA) of central govt employees by 5 percent. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar made the announcement calling it a ‘Diwali Gift’. The decision was approved in a cabinet meet chaired by PM Narendra Modi. The dearness allowance has been increased from 12 percent to 17 percent.
