A four time BJP MLA, Kuldeep Singh Sengar was on monday convicted of kidnapping & raping a minor in UP’s Unnao district in 2017. In the long-awaited verdict, the judge praised the rape survivor "fighting against a powerful person.” The judge also slammed the foisting of false cases against her family. The judge questioned the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over delays in filing a chargesheet. The quantum of sentence will be announced on December 17, 2019.
