Many low-lying areas have been inundated and several people are stranded. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) officials were called in for relief and rescue operations in flood-affected areas of Jamnagar. An IAF chopper rescued people stranded in the floodwaters in Jamnagar. The heavy showers led to flooding in several parts of Rajkot & Jamnagar cities as well as in rural areas of the twin districts. Schools & colleges were shut in Rajkot & other adjoining areas after roads were left waterlogged. Reportedly, the water level in the Ukai dam is just 3 feet near the danger mark of 345 feet.
