Haryana Govt Announces Suspension Of Internet Services In 5 Districts As Farmers Congregate For Karnal Kisan Mahapanchayat

Haryana government on September 6 ordered suspension of mobile internet services till September 7 midnight in Karnal district. This comes in view of the call of Kisan Mahapanchayat to “maintain law & order”. Haryana government said mobile internet and SMS services will remain suspended in Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, and Panipat on September 7 to curb the "spread of inflammatory material and rumours.” The services will remain suspended from 12:30 pm on September 6 to September 7 midnight, as per an order of the Home Department. Reportedly, the suspension was ordered to stop the spread of misinformation & rumours through social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter on mobile phones & SMS. The Karnal police in a tweet appealed to the farmers to protest peacefully. Watch the video to know more.
