On December 6, the United States announced a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. The games will be hosted in February 2022. Beijing did not issue any immediate reaction. Jen Psaki, White House Press Secretary said the administration would send no diplomatic or official representation to the Games. Psaki said that sending official representation would signal that the Games were "business as usual”. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said the sending or not was a "purely political decision for each government, which the IOC in its political neutrality fully respects,” reported AFP. The games will be held from February 4 to 20 in 2022 in a closed loop bubble due to Covid-19 regulations. Watch the video to know more.
