Kartika is the eight lunar month as per the Hindu calendar. It is considered as the holiest month among all lunar months. The full moon day is known as Kartik Purnima. It is also called Kartik Poornima. Kartik Purnima festivities begin from Prabodhini Ekadashi or Devuthanna Ekadashi. Kartik Purnima is celebrated for five days.
