Renowned filmmaker Shyam Benegal, who passed away on December 23 at the age of 90, was remembered by many celebrities at his funeral. His final rites were attended by actors Naseeruddin Shah, Gulzar, Divya Dutta, and several others, who paid their last respects. Benegal, known for his iconic films like 'Manthan', 'Ankur' and 'Mandi,' was a pioneering force in Indian cinema. His work, which captured the realities of India, left a lasting impact. The funeral was a sombre event, marking the end of an era in Indian film history. The Bollywood community came together to honour his legacy. Benegal died due to chronic kidney disease.
