On December 16, super typhoon Rai hit┬аPhilippines. Thousands of people┬аfled their homes as the typhoon lashed the country.┬аThe storm hit Siargao, packing maximum sustained winds of up to 195 km (121 miles) per hour, reported Reuters.┬аThe weather bureau had warned of widespread flooding and rain-induced landslides as well.┬аThe national disaster agency┬аsaid that more than 45,000 people sought emergency shelter as the storm charged across the Pacific Ocean.
