Twitter Agrees To Takeover Bid By Elon Musk

Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, has bought Twitter. Billionaire Musk has been able to seal the $44 billion deal. Bret Taylor, Twitter's Independent Board Chair, tweeted, “The Twitter Board has reached an agreement with Elon Musk.” This big deal comes just days after Twitter adopted the poison pill defense strategy. Elon Musk tweeted, “Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated.” Ahead of the deal reveal, the Tesla CEO tweeted, “I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means.” He had also tweeted, “If our twitter bid succeeds, we will defeat the spam bots or die trying!” Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal tweeted, “Deeply proud of our teams and inspired by the work that has never been more important.” Watch the video to know more.
