Pongal is celebrated with great zeal by the Tamil community across the globe. UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak extended warm greetings to people celebrating the harvest festival. The UK PM purportedly hosted a Pongal lunch for PM Office staff and the defence staff. A video, which has gone viral on social media, shows foreigners enjoying the traditional Indian meal on a banana leaf. In the video, the people can be seen eating with their hands.
