The FIA raided two illegal processing facilities in Islamabad's F-7/1 and E-11 sectors after receiving intelligence about the trafficking of human biological material. According to investigators, the suspects allegedly bought human placentas from hospitals in Islamabad and Rawalpindi before processing and exporting them. Officials believe the network procured nearly 200 kilograms of placenta every month, with a separate 100-kilogram shipment intercepted at Islamabad airport while allegedly bound for Vietnam.
Authorities said the suspects initially claimed they were processing sheep placenta but later admitted the material was human. Investigators are now examining possible links involving hospitals, waste management companies and immigration officials.
