New Delhi, May 6 (PTI) Four men were arrested for allegedly stealing valuables from unsuspecting commuters on the pretext of offering to give them a ride in their vehicles, police said Monday.

The accused have been identified as Naseem (33), Maksood (36), Mohammad Umer (60) and Hamid (35), they said.

On getting information about the gang, an investigation was launched and the accused were apprehended near the Pratap Nagar Metro station, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ram Gopal Naik said.

During interrogation, it was revealed that all the accused are close relatives.

A car and some jewellery were recovered from their possession. PTI NIT

27-year-old gang leader wanted in several cases arrested in Janakpuri

New Delhi, May 6 (PTI) A 27-year-old leader of a gang with several cases of rape, murder and robbery registered against him was arrested from the Janakpuri area here, officials said Monday.

Accused Mohammad Guddu (27), a resident of Uttam Nagar, was previously involved in seven cases of murder, robbery, rape and attack on police personnel, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse said.

Guddu was nabbed after police were tipped-off that he would be visiting the Pankha Road area of Janakpuri, Alphonse said.
