Mumbai, (Maharashtra) [India] Aug 16 (ANI): Bollywood star, Farhan Akhtar voiced his support for the ongoing rescue operations in Kerala which is reeling under floods.

He took to Twitter to voice his concern and wrote, "Thoughts with the people of #Kerala. Here's hoping that rescue teams, medical aid, and food relief can reach all those in need."

The death toll in Kerala floods has increased to 94.

The Centre which launched a massive rescue operation. Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been tasked to mobilize additional manpower, boats, and helicopters to scale up the rescue and relief operations.

Food packets and drinking water are also being rushed to the affected areas.

Earlier today, NDRF teams evacuated 926 persons to a safer place at Pathamithitta, Kozhikode, Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Alappuzha. Moreover, the Army also built a 35-feet long bridge and rescued around 100 people including children and senior citizens from Malampuzha's Valiyakadu village.
