New Delhi [India], September 22 (ANI): The Delhi Police on Friday found the body of a 1.5-year-old girl on the terrace of a house next to the victim’s house at Wazirabad in the city.

The girl had been missing for the past five days and since then her family members had been looking for her but failed to find her whereabouts.

According to the police, the body has been sent for post-mortem and sleuths of the crime branch and members from other investigation agencies are present at the spot and an investigation has been launched.

"On 18th September, the missing of a 1.5-year-old girl was reported in the Wazirabad Police station area. Search operation was underway and today the body of the child was recovered from a nearby building, we have sent the body to the mortuary, a post-mortem will be conducted and legal action will be taken accordingly," said Sagar Singh Kalsi, DCP.

Body was found on the fifth floor of the building and the area seems not to be properly ventilated and bit suffocating, which might be the reason for the death. But exact cause will be known only after post-mortem report,” DCP added.

After her body was recovered, tension gripped the whole area and the child’s parents were in a deep state of shock and grief. They are also alleging suspecting murder as well as some wrongdoing with the girl.

However, police officials said that things would be certain only after the post-mortem report came out. (ANI)
