New Delhi [India], October 9 (ANI): The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the Centre on a plea seeking a CBI investigation into the death of two IIT students in Delhi earlier this year.

These incidents took place in July and September 2023. The High Court directed Delhi Police to file the status report. The matter is listed on October 19 for a hearing.

As per Delhi police, a fourth-year B. Tech student allegedly died by suicide in his hostel room at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in July 2023.

The deceased was identified as Ayush (20), a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly.

In another similar incident, a 21-year-old student of B. Tech final year at the Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi died by suicide on September 1, said police.

The B.Tech student was on an extension as he failed to clear some exams, said police. (ANI)
