New Delhi [India], August 30 (ANI): Delhi Police have arrested 17 individuals accused of various cybercrimes in a series of raids conducted across multiple states, according to the police.
"The Cyber South West district apprehended 17 suspects involved in various cybercrimes. Multiple teams conducted raids across different states as part of a week-long Special Cyber Ops," said Rohit Meena, DCP South West.
During the operation, raids were carried out in Mewat, Ajmer, Jodhpur in Rajasthan, Deoghar and Dumka in Jharkhand, Rajgarh and Sehore in Madhya Pradesh, Samastipur in Bihar, Giridih and Jamtara in Jharkhand, Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh, and Mumbai.
"The primary modus operandi in these cases involved online stock market investment scams, work-from-home schemes through Telegram, fake customer care numbers, fraud via the 99-acre and Quikr apps, and the misuse of the Drive Track Plus card," Meena stated.
The arrests were made in connection with six cases, according to the police officer. (ANI)
