Pune (Maharashtra) [India], February 5 (ANI): Traffic on the Mumbai-Pune highway remained severely affected for more than 24 hours after a chemical-laden tanker overturned at Khandala Ghat, leading to long tailbacks in the Urse Maval stretch.
Commuters reported a lack of timely information and traffic diversions from authorities, with several vehicles stranded for hours despite tolls being collected.

"We started our journey from Pune in the afternoon... There has been no information from the police at all... They are deducting the tolls and sending us ahead to get stuck... The authority should at least let us know about the situation... There are no police authorities here to divert the traffic....," the commuter said.
Adding to that, the traveller said, "The authorities should at least let us know the situation and where traffic is most likely to be stopped. They are not providing any information regarding that. At least let people know whether to proceed, where traffic is heavy, where to stop, and which routes to take or avoid. At least this basic information should be provided by the police authorities, but it has not been. As you can see, I'm standing right next to the traffic; there is a lot of traffic over here, but no police to handle it, let them know, or divert them elsewhere. So this is only the request: that you please provide proper information from your end and let everybody travel safely."(ANI)
