India News | MP: Man Held for Molesting Minor After 2 Months in Bhopal

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 24 (ANI): A man was arrested in connection with the molestation of a seven-year-old minor girl after around two months in Madhya Pradesh's capital, Bhopal, a police officer said on Tuesday.

The accused is a resident of Berasia, and he used to visit areas under the jurisdiction of the Teela Jamalpura police station every two months to collect donations for the madrasa. During the last visit in July, the accused had molested the girl, the officer said.

While returning from the school on Tuesday, the minor saw the accused and informed her family members. Thereafter, the kins approached the police station, and the accused was arrested, the police added.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP, Zone 3) Shalini Dikshit told ANI, "A case of molestation came to light with a seven-year-old girl under Teela Jamalpura police station where the accused committed the crime in July. The victim's family searched the accused at the time of incident but didn't find his whereabouts. Today, while returning from school, the minor saw the accused and informed her family members."

"Thereafter, the family registered a complaint at the police station, the police began the search and nabbed the accused. The accused is a resident of Berasia. He collects donations for the madrasa and comes to the Teela Jamalpura area every two months for the same. During his last visit, he had committed the crime," Additional DCP Dikshit added.

Further investigation into the matter is underway, she added. (ANI)
