Palanpur (Gujarat) [India], October 23 (ANI): In a tragic accident, a person was killed on Sunday after a portion of an under-construction bridge collapsed in Gujarat's Palanpur.

The incident was reported near the RTO circle area.

Varun Baranval, Collector Banaskantha-Palanpur, while speaking to ANI said that the bridge fell possibly due to a mechanical failure.

"The girders on the bridge fell possibly due to a mechanical failure. A team from Gandhinagar are on their way to Palanpur to conduct a technical study on this matter. One body was retrieved from under the debris," Varun Baranval said.
