New Delhi [India], September 21 (ANI): Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Pralhad V Joshi, conducted an inspection of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution as part of the Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign 2024 on Friday. This year's theme is "Swabhav Swachhata - Sanskaar Swachhata."

The Ministry in its official statement said," In order to ensure cleanliness, healthy working environment for effective operational efficiency within the Department, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Shri Pralhad V Joshi along with Secretary and other senior officers conducted an inspection of departmental offices. During this inspection, the Minister visited various offices, engaging with staff members and advised the officials to maintain a good working environment."

As part of the cleanliness activities, a drive was held at the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), National Research Laboratory (NRL) in Mohali, where employees cleaned the roadside area, collecting and disposing of four tonnes of garbage. The National Test House (NTH) in Varanasi and the National Co-operative Consumer Federation (NCCF) in New Delhi cleaned office equipment, including lights, fans, and air conditioners.

In addition to these activities, a swachhata workshop was organised at NTH headquarters, featuring 12 events focused on the importance of cleanliness in office spaces and surroundings. A Hindi slogan writing competition on cleanliness and hygiene was held at NTH (NWR) in Jaipur, where 25 employees participated.

To promote community involvement in the campaign, NTH, Mumbai set up six selfie booths outside and four inside its office, encouraging employees to take photos with "Swachhata Hi Sewa" placards. (ANI)
