New Delhi, Apr 16 (PTI) A 28-year-old man was shot dead allegedly by unidentified persons in outer Delhi's Khera Kalan Tuesday, police said.

The deceased was identified as Ravinder, a resident of Khera Kalan, they said.

The incident took place at around 4 pm following which police rushed to the spot.

Ravinder was riding a motorcycle when around two-three men followed him in a car, opened fire at him and fled the spot, Gaurav Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) said.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared hi brought dead, the DCP said.

A case was registered and the matter is being probed, he said.

No CCTV camera was found installed at the crime spot or in the adjoining areas, the officer said.

During investigation, Ravinder has found to be involved in three criminal cases. He was released from jail recently, the officer said, adding that rivalry could be a motive behind the killing, the DCP said.

The accused men are yet to be identified and efforts are on to nab them, he said.
