MP Sanctions Rs 39.5 Cr for Famers Whose Crops Hit by Cold Weather
Madhya Pradesh government has sanctioned Rs 39.52 crores for the state's farmers whose crops have been destroyed by the intense cold weather accompanied with hailstorms in the past few weeks.
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], Feb 14 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh government has sanctioned Rs 39.52 crores for the state's farmers whose crops have been destroyed by the intense cold weather accompanied with hailstorms in the past few weeks.The government carried out a survey of the affected crops and subsequently, the amount of Rs 2226.79 lakhs has been released for distribution to affected farmers.The survey had identified 11 districts including Bhopal, Burhanpur, Seoni, Mandla, Shahdol, Sidhi, Dindori, Chhindwara, Umaria, Annuppur and Singrauli as frost-affected areas.In the survey, the major crops affected due to frost are pea, masoor, tomato, arhar, gram, banana and other vegetables.The government has sent the compensation package to the local administration for distribution among farmers.The collectors have sanctioned no relief amount to the district of Ratlam, Indore, Ujjain, Shajapur, Dewas, Harda, Sehore, Agra etc. since the reported losses were found to be less than 25 per cent.
