Puducherry, Aug 25 (PTI) A day ahead of the commencement of the budget session of the Puducherry Assembly, opposition AINRC and BJP MLAs submitted a copy of the notice for moving a no confidence motion against the Speaker to Lt Governor Kiran Bedi.

The legislators met Bedi at her office and presented her the copy of the notice against V P Sivakolundhu, whom they have accused of participating in ruling Congress sponsored meetings.

They also claimed that he would not discharge his duties in an "impartial and non partisan" manner.

Leader of the opposition and former Chief Minister N Rangasamy (AINRC) led the delegation of the opposition AINRC and the Bharatiya Janata party members.

The AIADMK is also a constituent of the opposition block but did not join the delegation, sources said.

Meanwhile, a release from Bedi's office said the Leader of the opposition and his party legislators presented a copy of the notice of no confidence motion against the Speaker.

The opposition AINRC had on Tuesday submitted a notice to the Assembly Secretary A Vincent Rayar for moving a 'no confidence' motion against Sivakolundhu.
