A patrolling team of the Election Commission of India seized suspicious amount of Rs 50 lakh from a high-end vehicle at Tardeo circle here, an official said Sunday.
Mumbai, Apr 14 (PTI) A patrolling team of the Election Commission of India seized suspicious amount of Rs 50 lakh from a high-end vehicle at Tardeo circle here, an official said Sunday.
An ECI patrolling unit Saturday night spotted a Land Rover (Discover) and on primary suspicion, search was carried out, said Bansi Gavali, an ECI official for Mumbai South Lok Sabha constituency.
"The person in the car is identified as Rameshchandra Samdani, who was in the possession of Rs 50 lakh. The I-T officials have been informed about the cash seizure," he said, adding that the income tax officials will take over the investigation.
