The company initiated the pre-bookings for both motorcycles previously in June, 2018 with upfront payment of Rs. 50,000. The deliveries are expected to start from November onwards.

BMW Motorrad is all set for the launch of two most-affordable motorcycles in the country today. The motorcycles from the German marque were showcased at Auto Expo 2018 earlier this year. Moreover, the company has already initiated the pre-bookings for the motorcycles with token amount of Rs. 50,000 in June this year. Also, the motorcycles have started arriving at the dealerships ahead of the launch. The deliveries for the bikes are expected to commence later this year, around November.
The Bavarian two-wheeler giant collaborated with TVS Motors in 2013 to manufacture affordable motorcycles with cost-effective base. TVS Motors is already manufacturing both the motorcycles from the Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu, which are entire developed by the German brand. The BMW G 310 R is a naked street fighter whereas BMW G 310 GS is an adventure tourer that come powered by a 313cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder unit. The unit is tuned to produce 34PS of maximum power @ 9,500rpm against the peak torque of 28Nm @ 7,500rpm. Transmission duties are carried out by a 6-speed transmission and gets a dual-channel ABS as standard. On the pricing front, the company will be focusing to tap the segment with a correct point to attract the buyers, which is possible only by a competitive price tag. Considering the level of competition already in the market, the BMW G 310 R motorcycle could be priced under Rs. 3 lakh bracket. As far as the competition is concerned, the BMW G 310 R will compete against KTM 390 Duke, Mahindra Mojo XT 300, Bajaj Dominar 400 in the naked street category while BMW G 310 GS will be pitted against Kawasaki Versys-X 300 and Royal Enfield Himalayan.
