Mahindra & Mahindra, a leading UV maker will be launching the new Mahindra XUV300 sub-compact SUV today in India. Likely to be priced from Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Mahindra XUV300 will take on Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon in the sub-compact SUV segment. The launch event of XUV300 is slated to commence at 12 PM IST onwards, which will be live streamed through social media accounts. The SUV is built on the SsangYong's X100 platform, which also underpins SsangYong Tivoli. The SUV also carries some characters from the former, however, the company has ensured distinctive characters of the XUV300 by adding new suspension setup and all-new steering mechanism. On the dimension front, the new Mahindra XUV300 gets length of 3990mm, width of 1820mm and height of 1620mm. The wheelbase of the SUV stands at 2620mm and the ground clearance measures 180mm.

Inside the cabin, the SUV sports off-white and black interiors while the materials are lifted from Mahindra Marazzo. On the feature-front, the SUV will be equipped with 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto-climate control, steering mounted controls, start-stop engine, sunroof, cruise control and much more. On the safety front, the SUV gets ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors as standard. Mahindra XUV300 Sub-Compact SUV India Launch Tomorrow; Likely To Be Priced Around 8 Lakh.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the new Mahindra XUV300 SUV will be offered in petrol as well as diesel versions. The petrol unit is a 1.2-litre G80 turbocharged unit while the oil burner is a 1.5-litre unit. The former is tuned to make 110 bhp of max power @ 5000 rpm with peak torque of 200 Nm whereas the latter makes 115 bhp @ 3750 rpm with 300 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard.

Once launched, the all-new Mahindra XUV300 will take on Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and Honda WR-V in the sub-compact SUV space. The XUV300 is expected to carry a very competitive price tag, which is believed to start from Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant. The top-of-the-line variant could be priced around 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
