Popular American fitness YouTuber and bodybuilding influencer Connor Murphy has died at the age of 32 following a drowning incident in Thailand. Local emergency responders pulled his body from a lake on Tuesday (July 7) in the Bang Phli district of Samut Prakan province. Connor Murphy Dies in Thailand

According to investigators from the Bang Phli Police Station, authorities were initially called to a residential village after witnesses reported a foreign national acting erratically. Local security staff and workers stated that Murphy began displaying signs of a severe psychological episode, shouting and rolling on the road before running toward the village's lake.

Witnesses observed Murphy swimming into deeper water until he apparently became exhausted and slipped beneath the surface. Rescue divers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation searched the 10-meter-deep lake and recovered his body approximately 20 meters from the shoreline.  Following a search of the luxury property Murphy was renting and his vehicle, Thai police discovered two unused syringes and unidentified white pills. Local reports also noted that the interior of his home had been left in disarray, with paint splattered across the furniture and appliances.

While toxicology and forensic autopsy results are still pending to establish an official cause of death, Murphy's girlfriend of three years stated to local press that she had never seen him use illicit drugs during their time living together. The U.S. Embassy has been notified of his passing as the local investigation continues.

In the immediate aftermath of the incident, a video clip rapidly circulated across X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok, with users claiming it was a final message recorded by Murphy shortly before his death.  In the widely shared video, a visibly altered Murphy speaks directly into the camera, stating that he feels like he is "dying every second."

"I'm just trying to remind myself because I'm really high," Murphy says in the recording. "It's getting weird. I feel like I'm dying every second. So I'm just making this video so I can watch it and remind myself. Am I dreaming? Is it real?"The clip fueled intense speculation online regarding his state of mind and potential substance use prior to the drowning.
