Kapil Sharma and Ginni Chatrath tied the knot in Jalandhar on December 12, post which the pair organised a bash for their friends and families in Amritsar on December 14. The party was moved to Mumbai last night, where who’s who of television and film industry were in attendance to celebrate Kapil and Ginni’s marriage. However, the reception courted controversy, when the media present decided to boycott the event. And here’s how and why things panned out and media left. A reporter present at the do on condition of anonymity, revealed, "The food served to the media (samosa) was stale and was smelling. The food was served at 12:15 am and there were no proper arrangements made for us to sit. And when some of the photographers questioned the PRs, they said –‘hamne thodi bola tha aane k liye 7 baje’? So the media decided to collectively boycott the event.” Kapil Sharma and Ginni Chatrath's Mumbai Reception Pictures Are Out; The Pair Looks Perfect Together!
And corroborating this story was photographer Viral Bhayani who posted about the boycott. See his post below.
However, when we got in touch with one of Kapil’s team members, she rubbished the story completely. The member who did not wish to be named revealed, "The PRs informed the media that Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan had cancelled due to personal commitments and they (the media) left. Our initial invite for the red carpet read 7:30 pm onwards. However, we later on sent a revised invite where we asked the media to be at the event by 9 pm, so that they did not have to wait for a very long time."
“The media asked the event handlers and they spoke to the media with due respect at all times. As for no seating arrangements, we had an entire row of chairs for the media and we did not ask them to get up even as they occupied the marble seatings next to the venue. Our bouncers also treated the media with a lot of respect. To ensure that the media gets good stills, we made sure that there was a large backdrop, there were enough lights as well,” The PR added.
Well, it's hard to determine who was at fault here. Hope Kapil Sharma manages to calm things down with the paparazzi.
