HSC Exam 2019: Mumbai Girl With Special Needs to Appear For Exam Using iPad

A Maharashtra state board student will be attending her HSC Exam 2019 using an iPad for the first time. 20-year-old Nishka Hosangady, an Arts student of Mumbai's Sophia College is affected by movement disorder and speech impairment caused by a rare hereditary condition called dystonia. But this is not the first time Nishka will be appearing for her exams on an iPad, reported The Times of India. She wrote her Class 10 exams also on an Apple device. Nishka was affected by the condition at the age of eight due to which she lost two years of school. Later she enrolled in a special school and appeared exams through NIOS board. The college is supportive of the special student and vice-principal Sister Annie Peter said that they will do everything to ensure she gets what she deserves. Last year, the board had let a student appear exam on a computer. Nishka is not sure about what she wants to study ahead, however, her parents want her to continue her education. Her mother Rashmi said, "We want institutions to help differently-abled special children who have so much to contend with in their daily lives, by allowing them assistive devices, making available writers easily to live their dreams."
