New Delhi, February 6: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to begin the online registration process for NEET UG 2026 soon. Ahead of the application launch, NTA has issued an important document advisory asking candidates to update their Aadhaar Card, UDID Card for PwD candidates, and category certificates before filling out the NEET 2026 application form. The advisory clearly indicates that Aadhaar is mandatory for NEET UG 2026 registration, and candidates must ensure all details are correct and current.

As per the advisory, the Aadhaar Card should accurately reflect the candidate’s name, date of birth, gender, photograph, address, and biometric information wherever applicable. Candidates who do not have Aadhaar yet have been advised to apply immediately, as the application form is expected to be released anytime on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. Those belonging to reserved categories must also ensure their category certificates are valid and updated. ‘Are Standards Being Compromised?’ Supreme Court Seeks NBEMS’s Reply On NEET-PG 2025 Cutoff Reduction.

Why Aadhaar Is Required for NEET UG 2026

NTA has made Aadhaar compulsory to streamline the NEET registration and examination process. An updated Aadhaar helps reduce errors in personal details, prevents duplicate or fraudulent registrations, and ensures smooth biometric verification at exam centres. It also plays a crucial role during NEET counselling and speeds up document verification at the time of admission. NBEMS Exam 2026 Dates: NEET PG and NEET MDS Exam Schedule Announced at natboard.edu.in, Check Examination Dates Here.

Candidates will be required to enter and authenticate their 12-digit Aadhaar number during NEET 2026 registration, after which Aadhaar-linked details will be auto-filled. Failure to update Aadhaar may lead to authentication issues during form submission or on the exam day. Candidates can update their Aadhaar by visiting the Unique Identification Authority of India website and uploading supporting documents well before the NEET UG 2026 registration window opens.
