An Alwar government school principal, Lal Chand Meena, has triggered widespread outrage and a departmental investigation after a viral video showed him bathing in the Bharaj dam with female students. A government school principal in Rajasthan’s Alwar district has triggered widespread outrage and a departmental investigation after a video surfaced showing him bathing "naked" in a local dam alongside female students. The incident occurred in the Pratapgarh police station area, centring around the head of the Government Senior Secondary School in Padak Chapli. Local villagers rushed to the school to register formal protests after footage emerged on social media.
Allegations of Unsafe Outing and Misconduct
According to local accounts, the principal, Lal Chand Meena, had taken approximately 200 students from classes 9 through 12 through a forest route to the Bharaj dam on August 15, reports The Times of India. The trip was reportedly organised under the pretext of an excursion and swimming lessons. Rajasthan Man Gets Milk Can Stuck on Head While Trying To Beat Heat, Video Goes Viral.

Villagers and local authorities noted that the area has a high safety risk profile, with an embankment width of only five to six feet and a history of fatal drownings. Residents alleged that the location had been prohibited for public visits for four years, and that the students - many of whom did not know how to swim - entered the water without life jackets or proper safety supervision. Furthermore, reports highlighted that no female teachers accompanied the girls on the trip.
"The principal took about 200 students from classes 9 to 12 through a forest route to Bharaj dam,” villager Mohanlal Yogi claimed. He also said that the principal was seen bathing in the dam with girl students while wearing very few clothes. The situation escalated when video evidence emerged showing the principal in the water with the students, prompting intense backlash from parents and residents.
Police and Departmental Investigation
Local police arrived at the school premises on Saturday, August 22, to manage the protests, record initial statements, and secure the principal's statement. Authorities noted that while no formal written complaints had been filed immediately by students or parents, law enforcement proceeded with an inquiry based on the viral footage. Education officials have moved quickly to address the matter. Thanagazi Block Education Officer Shakuntala Yadav confirmed that a three-member committee was formed to look into the incident.
