According to police, the student, identified as Gurukiran, had woken up early for the school's routine physical training session. He reportedly began running on the playground around 5.30 am and collapsed after completing two laps. However, the student's parents later alleged that he had been beaten by the PT teacher before collapsing. Based on their complaint, police registered a case of murder against the teacher under the relevant provisions of the law.
Police have begun collecting evidence, recording statements from school staff and students, and examining the sequence of events leading up to the child's death.
