Bengaluru, August 24: In a shocking case of domestic violence, a 30-year-old woman was strangled to death by her unemployed husband in Karnataka's Bengaluru. The accused stuffed her body in a travel bag and dumped in her rented accommodation. The accused, identified as Sunil Kumar Mohanty, is currently on a run, The Times of India reported. According to The Times of India, the crime came to light on Wednesday when neighbours complained of a foul smell coming out of the victim's house. The cops later opened the door and found body stuffed in a travel bag. When police unchained the bag, they found a decomposed body of Rosaliya Sarojini Barla.
The accused was an alcoholic and used to fight with her wife for money. The victim used to work at a garment factory. Meanwhile, a case has been registered under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code. A search operation has been launched. In a similar case, a drunk man in Mumbai allegedly killed his wife following a heated argument after she refused to give him money. The accused got into a quarrel with his wife and strangulated her to death. Police have started search operation to nab him.
