The incident occurred on the evening of August 9 around 8:10 p.m. at Bear Creek Park. Officers responded to a call from a young woman who reported that she had been groped by an adult male while in the park. According to police reports, the suspect fled the scene immediately after the encounter. The victim did not sustain physical injuries during the incident. Following the initial response, authorities released a description and visual appeal to the public to assist in identifying the suspect. On August 12, officers identified and arrested Kurana without further incident. Kurana was held in custody pending a bail hearing and made his preliminary court appearance in British Columbia. SPS officials noted that the prompt resolution of the suspect's identity was aided by public collaboration during the appeal process.
