A 23-year-old Dalit woman has alleged that she was subjected to repeated s*xual assault, wrongful confinement, and forced religious conversion over several years in southeast Delhi’s Jamia Nagar. Police have registered an FIR and arrested four people, while the main accused, Fahim, already lodged in jail in another case, is being brought on a production warrant.

According to the complaint filed on May 14, the woman said she was first contacted in November 2021 by a man identifying himself as “Sahil” on Instagram. In March 2022, she visited a Batla House residence where he allegedly raped her and recorded the act, later blackmailing her with the videos. She further alleged that she was taken to Meerut, where she discovered that “Sahil” was actually Fahim. The FIR states that Fahim, along with his father Khursheed and other family members, repeatedly assaulted her, kept her confined, and issued death threats. The complainant claimed that on May 27, 2022, she was taken at gunpoint to a madrassa in Agwanpur, forcibly converted to Islam, and married to Fahim. She alleged her name was changed and Aadhaar details manipulated. The FIR also includes allegations of physical abuse and coercion within the household.
The woman stated that she managed to escape in January 2025 with her three-year-old daughter while Fahim was in jail. She later approached authorities with support from NGOs after a suicide attempt was prevented at Ballabgarh station.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, and further details are being verified.
