Delhi Mayur Vihar Mob Attack Video: 10-Year-Old in ICU After Residents Assaulted for Opposing Eve-Teasing
A 10-year-old boy is in the ICU after a mob allegedly attacked residents inside a housing society in Delhi's Mayur Vihar Phase 3. Around 10 to 15 people were injured after locals reportedly objected to the alleged eve-teasing of a young woman. Police are examining CCTV footage to identify the accused.
New Delhi, July 13: A group of alleged miscreants went on a violent rampage in East Delhi's Mayur Vihar Phase 3 on Sunday evening, leaving around 10 to 15 residents injured, including a 10-year-old boy who is battling for life in the intensive care unit (ICU). The violence reportedly erupted after locals objected to the alleged eve-teasing of a young woman.
According to eyewitnesses, around 10 to 15 men entered a residential society in Mayur Vihar Phase 3 and began attacking residents, triggering panic in the area. Locals alleged that the confrontation began after some residents intervened when a young woman was allegedly molested.
Residents claimed that after being confronted, the accused returned with several associates and allegedly launched a coordinated attack inside the society, assaulting multiple people with stones and sticks. CCTV footage recorded around 9:25 pm showed a group of youths running through the society and pelting stones at residents. Another video purportedly showed one of the attackers assaulting people with a wooden stick.

10-Year-Old Boy Critical
Among those injured was a 10-year-old boy, who suffered severe head injuries and is currently undergoing treatment in the ICU.
Speaking to NDTV, the boy's sister said he had accompanied his cousin to take photographs when he was attacked from behind.
"My brother is 10 years old. He had gone with our cousin to take photographs. The attackers hit him with stones from behind. He has suffered a blood clot and is in critical condition," she said. She further alleged that the attackers were carrying stones and wooden sticks, one of which had nails embedded in it. According to her, the family identified three attackers and handed over photographs of one of the accused, who they claim is a resident of the Gharoili area in Mayur Vihar Phase 3.
Locals said four to five of the injured remain in serious condition.
AAP MLA Questions Law and Order
AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar criticised the police response, pointing out that a police outpost is located barely 500 metres from the housing society where the attack took place.
After visiting the spot, Kumar alleged that the incident reflected deteriorating law and order in the national capital and urged Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to ensure the immediate arrest of those responsible.
Police Launch Investigation
Delhi Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. Officials are examining CCTV footage, recording statements of eyewitnesses and working to identify all those involved in the alleged mob attack.
The incident has left residents shaken, with police saying further action will be taken based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
