Faridabad Woman and Lover Arrested Within 24 Hours for Murder and Burial of Husband

A woman and her alleged lover have been arrested for the murder of her 42-year-old husband, whose body was discovered buried in a pit near their home in Faridabad’s Mojabad village, police reported on Tuesday, August 25. The suspects were apprehended within 24 hours of the crime following a swift police investigation launched after the discovery of the victim.
Discovery and Police Investigation
The Tigaon police station received an alert on Monday, August 24, concerning a body buried beneath the soil in Mojabad village, reports PTI. Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and recovered the remains in the presence of a designated duty magistrate. An official murder case was registered based on a formal complaint filed by the victim’s brother, Rambir, a resident of Dhadhau village located in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district. The deceased was identified as Shyamveer, a native of Hathras who resided in Mojabad village alongside his wife. Police identified the two arrested Shyamveer's wife, Keshav, and her alleged lover, Kamat, a native of Uttar Pradesh's Mahoba district.
Motive and Execution of the Crime
According to investigators, Kamat had been living with Shyamveer at the couple's Mojabad residence. Police stated that an ongoing affair between Keshav and Kamat was discovered by Shyamveer, resulting in frequent alcohol-fueled altercations between the husband and wife. On the evening of August 16, Kamat allegedly intoxicated Shyamveer before striking him on the head with an interlocking tile. While the attack occurred, Keshav allegedly secured the door from the outside to muffle any noise. The pair then buried the victim's body in a pit near the property. “We are questioning both the accused,” said Aman Yadav, ACP Crime. The investigation remains active as authorities review the evidence and question the suspects in custody.
