Girl Claims Bullets Came From Father’s Pistol

During questioning, the girl revealed her real identity, officials said. She reportedly told authorities that the cartridges had been taken from her father’s licensed pistol.

According to her statement, her father has a short temper and she feared he could take a drastic step after learning that she had gone to meet her jailed lover. She claimed that she therefore removed the cartridges from the pistol and carried them with her.

Fake Identity Raised Suspicion

The alleged use of a different name during the jail entry process initially drew the attention of security personnel. The subsequent search led to the recovery of the cartridges and other items, prompting officials to alert the police.

The circumstances in which the girl obtained the cartridges, the alleged fake identity document and her intended purpose for carrying the ammunition are now part of the investigation.

An FIR has been registered in connection with the incident, Jailer Aftab Alam Ansari said. The girl has been handed over to police for further action. The man who accompanied her was also handed over to the jail outpost in-charge after the cartridges were recovered. Further inquiry is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the source and intended use of the ammunition.
