Police Personnel Under Scrutiny

Senior police officers said efforts are underway to identify the two personnel seen in the footage. Their conduct is under examination, and departmental action may follow if lapses are established.

The incident has drawn sharp criticism from residents and social media users, with many questioning why the officers did not attempt to stop the attackers or provide immediate assistance to the victim.

Three Special Teams Formed

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Division) Kona Vamsi Krishna has constituted three special teams to investigate the murder and track down the accused.

According to preliminary findings, the killing is suspected to be a revenge attack linked to a murder allegedly committed by Raju nearly a decade ago in Banashankari. Investigators are examining old gang rivalries and criminal networks to establish the motive.

Victim Had Multiple Criminal Cases

Police said Raju alias Halmurka had a long criminal history, including cases of murder, attempted murder and robbery. He was also an accused in the Subramanyapura double murder case. However, officials said no fresh criminal cases had been registered against him in recent years.

Investigators are also probing possible links to associates of a rowdy identified as 'Stand Kutti', who is believed to have connections to the case.

Police suspect the murder was a pre-planned act stemming from a long-standing rivalry. Search operations are ongoing, and officials expressed confidence that those responsible will be arrested soon.
