A newlywed couple was killed after an unidentified vehicle hit their motorcycle on National Highway 48 near Sira in Karnataka’s Tumakuru district on Wednesday, September 16. The incident took place near Dwaraalu Bridge in Sira taluk. The deceased were identified as 25-year-old Darshan and his 21-year-old wife, Usharani, residents of Hunasekatte village. The couple had married around one-and-a-half months ago and were travelling towards Bengaluru on their motorcycle when the accident occurred. According to the available details, the unidentified vehicle allegedly struck the motorcycle from behind. Darshan died at the spot, while Usharani suffered critical injuries and died while being taken to hospital. The vehicle involved in the crash fled the scene following the collision.
