Following a formal complaint, the accused was apprehended by law enforcement authorities on Saturday, July 11 and subsequently produced before the Bidhannagar court on Sunday afternoon, July 12.

According to police sources, the incident took place approximately four days prior to the arrest. The victim had a long-standing academic relationship with the tutor, which officials state contributed to her lack of suspicion regarding the invitation. “The accused used to teach the teenager till class 10. Hence, the student did not think twice before visiting the house,” said an officer.

According to the police report, the nature of the meeting shifted once the student arrived at the residence. The girl alleged that the tutor expressed a desire to spend time with her rather than teaching. West Bengal Shocker: Woman Rapes Nephew Repeatedly, Makes Videos of S*x Abuse and Blackmails Him in Bongaon; Arrested.
